Workshop Summary
Teaching students how to be
strategic readers is
essential. Figuring out how to grade their thinking is tricky. During
this workshop, Cris Tovani will share how she uses her Option For
Grading plan to not only quantify what students do but also give them
feedback for improvement. Cris will also examine several tools that
students in all content areas can use to retrieve and remember thinking
that occurred while reading and use that thinking in discussions,
writing assignments, or projects. In addition she will show us how she
weaves formative assessment into her daily instruction.
